Josephine Blanche McCrady Kendrick, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026. She was born on September 16, 1936, in Edmonson County, near Brownsville, Kentucky. She was the youngest of twelve children born to the late Reverend James Charles McCrady and Delilah Maude Smith.
Josephine attended Caneyville High School. She and her husband were devoted Boy Scout leaders for more than 40 years. In recognition of her service, she earned the Silver Beaver Award and the Vigil Honor of the Order of the Arrow, along with many other scouting honors.
Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Kendrick, Sr., and her children Debra Yount, Christopher Hunt, Michael Hunt and Rhonda Hunt Dyer.
She is survived by her son, Gregory Hunt, and her stepchildren: William T. Kendrick, Jr.; Daniel Kendrick; James Kendrick; and Kathleen True as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Haven Hospice, Orange Park, Florida.
A visitation will be held on February 13, 2026, at 11:00 am at Riverside Event Pavilion, located at 1373 Memorial Park Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32205, US.
Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will take place at the same location at 12:00 pm.
