I met Joy in 1966,we remained friends for 45 years. Joy was a humble person who didn't like praise for anything she did because everything she did came from her heart.Joy loved God,family and friends unconditionally. She was a loving wife who raised three children as well as many others. Joy was also the health care provider for her mother.She didn't have much time to visit,but we stayed in touch through out the years.On occasion I would bump into Joy at Walmart and even in her pain and suffering she never complained. I miss her bright blue eyes ans sweet face.Joy was truly an earth angel to many. Joy,I will see you in heaven.

You were the best wife in the world, I couldn't ask for no better.  She took care of me through thick and thin, anything I needed she did it for me.  She never said no for nothing.  We never had a fight in our 44 years. She loved everybody, she hated no one.  I will never find another like her and I loved her with all my heart soul and mind.  I miss her every day of my life.  I still sleep with your pillow and hug it every night.  She loved all of her grand-kids and children.  I will love her and miss her until the day I die.  your husband....

was the most heartbreaking day of all,
in the early hours of the morning 
I got a dreadful call
a voice said “I am sorry but nanny passed away”. 
The biggest heartbreak of all 
is that I never said goodbye,
you were gone before I knew it
quietly, without a sigh
The road you were traveling was getting tough
so your heart said “Joy it is time you have had enough”
I was not there to hear your last breadth
to even hold your hand,
when you slipped away silently like the wind upon the sand
You were more than a mother to me
you were my one and true best friend
I wish I could one more time hold your sweet soft hand.
I often told you I loved you
and how much you meant to me,
Oh how many times I wanted to set you free.
You died at the age of 66
when you should of been at your best,
God saw  your pain and suffering
and said my daughter it's time to rest.
I think of you a lot mom
to you none can compare,
not a day goes by that I don't think of you
in fact, you're everywhere.
The lives you touched are too numerous to trace 
oh how I wished you could have stayed,
I know you are at peace now
in each and every way.
I now sit at home
staring at the phone on the wall,
wanting and wishing
that you one day will call.
I look up at the night sky
and wonder where you might be,
I would love to send you this poem
"Could you send one to me" ?
I have learnt to lead a life apart from all the rest,
what a wonderful woman you were
in fact you were the best.
You were a very strong woman
who had been through quite a lot,
if you still have your mother
give her everything you've got.
This poem was easy write
for it came straight from the heart,
but writing about a Mom like you
I didn't know where to start.
I admit I have my days 
for my heart is still broken in two,
I remember your songs when you played the piano
and I wish I could sing a song for you.

My nanny was like my mom becuase she took good care of i cried for a cuple days ill never forget her every day i went and seen her she whould tell me she loved me i do the same and tell her i loved her she was all ways as nice as she could be she was funny when i was littel she would cook me romen noodels  if i needed help on my home work she would help me  she was the best nobody will forget her

"I cried when you passed away. I cry today still. Although I loved you dearly, I couldn't make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke my heart to prove to me he only takes the best." i miss you with all my heart  :'(

I have not forgotten about you Nanny! I know it has already been a year but it sure does not feel like it! I will always miss your hugs, your smile, your warm home, and definitely your awesome cookin'! But seriously, Nanny was and still is a very special person to me and my whole family and will remain that way for the rest of my life! I know you are up there Nanny and hope to see you again one day.

Your strength and kindness will never be forgotten! They live on in your children and grandchrildren! I see you in them everyday. Your love is in them and they keep you in this world by sharing that love! I am blessed for having known you and to have your loved ones in my life! You will be missed but never forgotten! Can't believe i hadn't signed this sooner. But its been almost a year since she left, I will never forget, and i will never stop missing you.

What a sweet woman!  I will always remember her with a smile on her face and nothing but warmth in her heart.  She was always so sweet to everyone and she is deeply missed!  My thoughts and prayers are with the family always!!!

My life began with waking up and loving my mama's face.  There aren't words beautiful enough to express the love my mom shared with so many.. Her sacrifices were countless daily.. Her complaints were unsaid.. Her hugs would absorb your pain.. Her smile would lift the heaviest burden.. Her laugh was her gift to any who heard it..
Gentle, soft, kind, precious, concerned, encouraging, dedicated, devoted and above all unconditionally loving always.  My heart is broken, I miss my mama... With more love than words can ever say, Jenny

My nanny was the most lovable person, and still. My nanny is one of a kind. Here is a quote, it reminds me when she told me to not  let people  get to me. "Always face
the sunshine, shadows will fall behind you." Love Taylor, your grandchild who loves you greatly, and misses you alot. You played the piano so wonderful, it made me go to sleep, even when  you held me in your precious arms and sung me a song and i fell fast asleep.

I never met Mrs. O'Quinn, and only spoke to her once over the phone; but through her son John, I beleive I have met her.
The resemblance between them isn't just physical. From what I learned, she gave John her kind heart and loving spirit.
Blessed be her soul, as she heads home to her creator.

I can't believe that I have to say good-bye to another "surrogate mother."  Even though she and I hadn't seen each other in a year and a half, she remembered me all the same.  She hugged me real tight and kissed me and told me that she loved me!  She was comforting me through another loss, and I told her that I loved her, too (which I did and always will)!  When she hugged me, I felt LOVED!!!  I'm truly sorry for the void in the lives that she touched!  She will be sorely missed!

I will sure miss her beautiful eyes, smile and kind spirit.  So sorry we could not be there for the funeral.  We are all in Arkansaw for Ethan's wedding Saturday.  We are praying for your family.  Heavens gain is truly our loss.

If there was ever an "Angel" on earth, my Aunt Joy was one. She has meant so much to so many people. She has touched and left an indelable mark on a  multitude of peoples lives. I have never known a more generous heart or a more loving, giving spirit. When she gave you a hug or told you she loved you there was never any doubt that she meant it from the bottom of her heart. She was a divinely inspired pianist who used her God given talent to honor, worship and praise her Lord and Savior every chance she got. I could listen to her play for hours. When she laughed, she laughed from the tips of her toes. You couldn't help but laugh with her because her JOY and smile was contagious. How appropriately she was named, for she was the embodiment of the  word "JOY" and all it represents. I will miss her greatly! May she rest in eternal peace with her Lord and Savior. Amen.

Thank you for everything you did for us, you are missed and loved your nephew Greg O'Quinn.

If ever there has been a godly woman, if ever there has been a wonderful mother, if ever there has been a sweeter and kinder and loving woman, it was found in Sister O'Quinn.  Also, no one could play "The Great Speckled Bird" like she could.

Mrs.Joy O'Quinn was the nicest lady I have ever met. If you were having a bad day she would brighten your day up in a heartbeat.She will be greatly missed, but she is in peace with God (: May she Rest in Peace forever

Sis O'Quinn was one of the sweetest, most sincere, giving women I've ever known. She always had the sweetest spirit. It's her beautiful smile I'll miss the most. She played the piano with such an anointing touch.  I love her son Jason singing as she played.  It's one of my favorite memories of Dowling Park.  It won't be the same anymore.  I adored her!  It was impossible not to.  Thank you for sharing her with us. Another Angel who blessed us with her beauty and grace.
