Joyce was a loving mother to her children Billy and Christy, a devoted wife to her husband Bill, and a patriotic American. She loved her family with all her heart and she loved her country and the men and women who risk their lives to keep us safe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Whitmore Gardner and Elizabeth Helen Synhoff Gardner and by her husband William Thornton Comer, III. She is survived by her daughter Christine Kay Comer, her son William Paul Comer, and her brother Paul Whitmore Gardner and his wife, Diana.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 10:00 am at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205 with burial to follow.
