

Edith (Judie) Hudson, age 81, died in Jacksonville on July 24, 2019. Judie was born and raised in Kannapolis, North Carolina. She attended Cannon High School which is where she met her first love, Bobby Ray Wyatt. After they secretly eloped, the two began a life together spent traveling the world while Bobby served as an air traffic controller for the United States Air Force. Judie loved raising her five children and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with them. After Bobby passed, she married her loving husband, Herman Hudson, with whom she built a home, reignited her love of learning, writing, and entertaining, as well as traveling to enjoy new sights and new foods along the way.
Judie is survived by Herman as well as her daughter, Pam (Sammy) Dasher of Folkston, three sons, Phillip (Angie) Wyatt of Valdosta, Paul (Pam) Wyatt of Hahira, Perry (Mary) Wyatt of East Lyme CT, two step sons Jake (Sabrina) Hudson and John (Courtney) Hudson, both of Greensboro, North Carolina and sister, Wanda Lowe of Hilliard. She is also survived by twenty one grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends, all of whom will miss her steady hand, loving heart and wonderful baking skills.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jewel and Irene Hooper; her husband Bobby Ray Wyatt; two sisters, Barbara Murphy and Jeannie Holtholf, and a daughter Patty Stone. Edith was a member of West Jacksonville Primitive Baptist Church.
Visitation will be at 12pm at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Funeral Home & Riverside Memorial Park in Jacksonville and funeral services will take place at 2pm. Burial services will be immediately following the funeral at Riverside Memorial Park. Flowers can be sent to Hardage-Giddens Riverside Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
