Judson West, age 90, of Jacksonville, FL on January 20, 2022. Judson was born in Bainbridge, GA on December 25, 1931 to Jim West and Emma Lane Jones. He was in the US Army during the Korean War. He married Mary Maudine (Dean) West. Judson worked as a service technician with Sears and retired from that company. He and a group of retired friends had breakfast at Bill’s Diner on a daily basis to “lie to each other” and have a few laughs.
He is survived by son, Judson Allen West and daughter-in-law Lori; daughter, Melinda Hart; granddaughters, Lana West and Lindsay and her husband Beau Copher; and great-grandson, Stran Kyler Copher.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Margie Tygart and Dorothy Buck Minchew; one brother, Dick West; 3 half brothers, Luther Shirah, Raymond Shirah, and Earl Shirah; and 2 half sisters, Myrtis Shirah McKennon and Mystic Shirah McKennon.
There will be a visitation for friends and family on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 12pm until 2pm at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. Funeral services will start at 2:00pm with burial to follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
