On the morning of September 20, 2015, Link fell asleep in death at Community Hospice’s Earl B. Hadlow Center for Caring in Jacksonville as a result of an extended illness while surrounded by his family. Link was 57 years old.
Link was born in Jacksonville on May 1, 1958. He was the first child, and the only son, of Lankford Earl Chaney, Sr. and Y. Theresa “Terry” Chaney.
Link had a passion for computers, trains, his birds; Beau and Malibu, cooking, camping, traveling, and taking out his jeep to get a little mud on the tires.
He is survived by his mother, Y. Theresa “Terry” Chaney; sisters, Theresa, Cynthia and Allyson; and his long-time friend Frederick “Fred” Durden. He was preceded in death by his father, Lankford Earl Chaney, Sr.A funeral service will be held Sunday, October 4th at 4:00pm at Hardage-Giddens, Chapel Hills Funeral Home 850 St. Johns Bluff Rd.
