Larry Bruce Knowles

Larry Bruce Knowles, 66, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away suddenly on July 7, 2016. Larry was born in Jacksonville, Florida on October 5, 1949. He graduated from Paxon High School the same year his Mother got her GED. Larry worked as a house painter (self-employed) for many years. He was an excellent painter and had many loyal customers throughout the years before having a stroke in 2008. He enjoyed going to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee with his Mother during the summer months. He especially enjoyed going to Cades Cove early in the morning to see the deer. Over the years, Larry had many dogs that he loved, cared for, rescued and took with him to Tennessee. Larry is survived by his sisters, Sheila (John) Smith and Brenda Knowles, brothers David (Lee) Knowles and Adam “Skip” Knowles, Aunts, Agnes “Mickey” Massey, Margaret “Margie” Esposito, and Anna (Richard) Shulko, Nieces, Tiffany (Kevin) King, Mandi Knowles, Annesa Knowles, Heather Johnson, Sarah Krum, Carrie Coleman, Megan Chin and Katie Knowles, Nephews Adam (Laura) Chin and Sean (Crystal) Knowles. He also leaves to cherish his memory Great-Nephew David King as well as many cousins. Larry is preceded in death by his mother, Beulah Mae Cooner Knowles, his father, Robert Jefferson Knowles and brother, Robert Daniel “Danny” Knowles. A graveside service will be held at 10:00am on July 23, 2016 at Riverside Memorial Park with Reverend Chris Kelsay officiating. No visitation will be held. Funeral arrangements under the care of Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home. The family of Larry Bruce Knowles wishes to thank all those who have shown kindness and understanding to Larry.
