Lewis Joseph Riley

Lewis Joseph Riley, 45, passed away at his home August 8, 2023 after bravely battling Cancer. He was born on November 16, 1977, in Jacksonville, FL, the son of Robert Joseph Riley and Donya Taylor Riley.

He graduated high school in 1995, had CFCC training through Lockheed Martin for Electrical Engineering and working with explosives. He later worked at Crowley Concrete in Jacksonville, FL and then went onto working at American Transmission 2 as assistant manager. Lewis loved playing football during high school, until he blew out his knee. In the blink of an eye his dream of going pro was shattered. He was always outside working on his car or installing a system for someone else. He had an ear for music which was evident in his unique custom systems. He taught himself how to play golf and then later taught his wife how to play. They were then able to enjoy playing the game together.

Lewis is survived by his daughter, Destiny & grand-daughter, RaeLynn; his loving wife, Heather and her two daughters, Lilly & Elizabeth; mother, Donya; dad, Mark; sisters, Colleen, Nancy, Anna & Katie. Anna’s husband, Larry, their daughter Lydia, Katie’s husband, Logan, and their son, Mackenzie; aunt, Charita, who was more like a sister to Lewis, and her husband, Mike and their two kids, Kyle and Abby; Raymond and his whole family; Nate and his dad Dennis; Rico, Stan, JR, and his three kids, Brianna, Kaylee & Braydon.

Special Thanks go out to the staff at Ackerman Cancer Center especially, Kenzie, Jill, and Dr. Stroud, you all went above and beyond and will always have a special place in my heart. Dr. Siegel with Cancer Specialists of North Florida, you gave me the hope and strength that I needed in the end. So that I could care for him and make sure his wishes were followed.

A visitation for Lewis will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205, followed by a celebration of life service at 12:00 PM.
