Linda Hughes

Linda Hughes, 48, passed away on October 26, 2015 at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL surrounded by her loving husband and family. She was born in Jacksonville ("West Side") , FL on December 30, 1966 to Elic David and Mary Ruth Farris Combs.

Linda, “Mom” and “Grandma” was kind, loving, giving, considerate, fun-loving and friendly. She loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Linda was more comfortable in one-on-one interactions, preferred her quiet time and enjoyed understanding things before she acted or spoke. She relied on clear, fact based information, used common sense and created practical solutions. Linda was sensitive to others and relied on her feelings to understand others and situations.

She is survived by her husband Donald Glen Hughes and were married for 30 years. Linda is survived by her sisters and brothers: Gaile Lyons (Charlie); David Combs (Joyce); Sue Ayala (Chu); Robert Combs (Wanda); Bettye Rice (Sonny); Carol Dasher (Keith); Jenny Smith (Melvin); Jackie Combs and Brenda Grimes (David). Linda is survived by her daughter Sherrie Hughes; and grandchildren – Maverick; Memphis; Makaylin and Mayleigh.

The family will receive friends and loved ones for a memorial service on Wednesday, October 28 at 5:00 pm for a Memorial Service at First Baptist Church of Orange Park at 1140 Kingsley Ave. Orange Park.
