

Lucille was born to Delphis and Margaret Bergeron on July 5, 1925 in North Adams, Massachusetts. In 1946 she married Vincent Matranga, and they stayed married for 71 years until his passing away in 2018.
She is survived by her brother, Richard Bergeron from Florida, Massachusetts; her daughter, Judith Ann Broom of Jacksonville, Florida; two grandchildren: David Michael Broom, of Kennedale, Texas; Christy Michelle Broom Pantry of Jacksonville, Florida; four great-grandchildren: Matthew Michael Broom (Rejina), Rachel Ann Broom Mathis (Jeramie), Jacob Michael Broom, and Faith Pantry, all of Jacksonville, Florida; two great-great grandchildren: Junior and Leana; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, other siblings who preceded her in death were: Vivian Senecal, Carol Bergeron, Robert Bergeron, and Shirley Vandetti.
She enjoyed painting landscapes and people; also doing crossword puzzles. Lucille was given a gift of a beautiful singing voice. During her life she worked at several different jobs, mostly helping people and was involved in helping out at her parish (Holy Spirit). What she enjoyed most of all is when the family would come to visit her. She loved her family! Above all she had a great devotion to our Lady of the Rosary.
There will be a viewing at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 11665 Fort Caroline Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32225, on Monday, October 11 at 5:00 PM, with a rosary to follow at 5:30 PM, led by her prayer group. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Spirit on Tuesday, October 12 at 11:00 AM with interment to follow at Chapel Hills Memory Gardens, 850 St. John’s Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, Florida 32225.
