Margaret Derry Hotchkiss

Born on October 1, 1938 in Derby, Connecticut, Peggy lived a life marked by strength, devotion, and quiet generosity. As a single parent, she met life's challenges with unwavering determination always placing her children at the center of her world. Her enduring love, kind spirit, and steadfast guidance shaped the lives of those closest to her.

Peggy was the beloved mother of Hope Henderson and her husband, Shawn; Harold Hotchkiss III and his wife, Denise; and Aaron Hotchkiss and his wife Lisa. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Ryan Houston (Jessika), Ross Houston (Brett Fivecoate), Erin Davis (Ty), Tyler Henderson (Elizabeth), Heather Daugherty (Greg), Holli Bolin (Wes), Kaylee Hotchkiss (Karissa Venne), and Kyle Hotchkiss. She also found great joy in her great grandchildren: Autumn Bolin, Storm Houston, Ryan Houston Jr., Ava Sebolt, Raylan Davis, Dalton Davis, Colton Henderson, and Daniel Henderson. She leaves behind a sister, Eleanor Benson of Newtown, Connecticut.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Wheeler Derry, father, James Richard Derry, and son, James Richard Hotchkiss.

Peggy's presence was a source of comfort and unity for her family. Her love was constant and selfless - offered freely without expectation. Her strength carried her through difficult times while her warmth made every gathering feel like home. She will forever stay alive in our memories and remembered with love.

A Memorial Gathering celebrating her life will be held on December 18, 2025 at 10:00 am at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Funeral Home located at 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
