Marie Pleming Reiter-Reid

Marie Reiter-Reid passed away on December 10 , 2016. She was born in Cookeville, Tennessee. Marie was the daughter of Frank & Maggie Verble Pleming. She retired from NAS Jacksonville as a supervisor in the Supply Department. She was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church, The Woman’s Club of Jacksonville, DAR, Garden Club, The Confederate Point Civic Association and the All Saints Nursing Home Auxiliary.

Marie was predeceased by her husbands Alex L. Reid and Carl P. Reiter. She was predeceased by her only sister, Jean Pleming Pressy and is survived by her son, Frederick P. Wood (Linda) of Clemmons, NC; granddaughters Kimberly Wood and Kelly Wentz; brother-in-law, Lawrence Pressy of Ocala, FL; step-sons Bruce Reiter (Cinda) of Marietta, GA, Chris Reid (Cheryl) of Jacksonville, FL and Roy Reid (Debra) of Jacksonville, FL; and step daughters Janet Wilson (Doug) of Fleming Island, FL, Rose Ericson (Bob) of Concord, CA, Joan Blasingame of Palm Coast, FL, and Pam (Marv) Howell of Flagler Beach, FL; 7 Reid grandchildren; 13 Reiter grandchildren; and a double cousin Edsel Pleming (Joanne) of Old Hickory, Tenn. Visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Town and Country Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 13th, 2016. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00pm at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 1773 Blanding Boulevard, on Wednesday, December 14th, 2016 with Father Jose Kulathinal officiating. Entombment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to St. Matthews Church at 1773 Blanding Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32210.
