Mary graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Physical Education and received a Masters degree from Georgia Southern College. She retired from Joseph Stilwell Middle School after years of coaching their girls softball teams to numerous championships. Mary was a member of Chaffee Road Church of Christ, an avid Florida Gator fan and longtime season ticket holder, and a member of the Riverside Tennis League where she captained many women's teams to league champions.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, brother Doyle E. Hazen, and dear friends Billie Bird Wages and Camille Seyfert. She is survived by her brother Jack E. Hazen(Clara) and many nieces and nephews.
