Maudie M. Caldwell, age 94, of Jacksonville, FL passed away at St. Vincent’s Hospital of natural causes on Jan 19, 2019. She was born on Dec 24, 1924 in Knoxville, TN to Walter David Mize and Martha Jane (Howard) Mize.
Maudie loved the beach, going camping, gardening, ceramics and was an avid reader. She loved spending time with family and friends and looked forward to any activities and celebrations. She lived life to its fullest and remained active until her death.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Clifford T. Caldwell Jr, her daughter, Wanda Lea Grimes of Jacksonville, FL and her son, Billy Beeler of Knoxville, TN.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Alma Jane Karnes of Knoxville, TN, Clifford T. Caldwell III of Fernandina Beach FL, Stuart H. Caldwell of Mesa, AZ, Terry W. Caldwell of Jacksonville, FL, Alma R. Montcalm of Clarksville, TN, and Rhonda C. Newsom of Jacksonville, FL, 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2019, between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM at Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home 7242 Normandy Blvd. Jacksonville, FL. Funeral services in memory of Maudie will follow at 2:00 PM with Reverend Phillip Crump officiating.
