

Michael Wayne Novak, 77, went to be with his heavenly father on January 16, 2024 after a short fight with cancer. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida on October 31,1946 to Adolph and Hope Novak. He was raised in Jacksonville. He attended Paxon Senior High School where he participated in track, baseball and basketball. It was at Paxon where he met and fell in love with his wife, Linda Novak and they were married in December of 1967.
He attended the University of Florida and much to his father’s chagrin he switched from an engineering major to a business major. He graduated from the University of Florida in 1968.
He was drafted into the army in December of 1970 and served a term in Vietnam. He returned home and held various positions in the distribution logistics field including working for companies such as Save-A-Stop, Coach, Tree of Life and Wal-Mart. He retired in 2012 from Johnstone Supply - The Ware Group.
He enjoyed traveling and visited many of the National Parks. He recently completed a three week trip around Michigan and the Great Lakes. He was an avid sports fan and spent many Saturdays enjoying University of Florida football. He loved all sports and cheered on his grandkids at their sporting events. He enjoyed spending quiet time at his property on the St. John’s River where he fished and relaxed in the pool.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Linda; two daughters Dana Green (Brian) and Kristi Campanella (Brian); two grandsons Adam and Anthony; two granddaughters Zoe and Lauren; and his beloved dog, Coco. Additionally he is survived by his sister Verna Fields (Mike); brother Dennis Novak (Beth) and brother Dr. Russell Novak (Liz). He was loved dearly by all his nieces and nephews and his sister-in-law Debbie and her family.
A graveside service for Michael will be held Monday, January 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
