Nancy Jamall was an educator, mother, wife, and bastion of light. Her warmth knew no bounds, and her kindness no borders. A pillar of the community, she was always quick with a smile and there for advice. If she were in your corner, there was no hurdle that couldn’t be overcome. With love, laughter and a wonderful energy, she filled the world with her warm presence and wonderful ways.
Nancy passed away after a battle with leukemia on April 16, 2025 at the age of 71. She was born September 18, 1953, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Jimmy and Grace Elerby. She was a bright student and went on to graduate from Williams Raines High School in 1971, going on to get a bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of North Florida, and a Master’s Degree in Education from Nova University. With a passion for teaching, she went on to teach elementary school for 31 years at both Lackawanna and Andrew Robinson Elementary. She is remembered as a beautiful soul by her students, always kind and knowledgeable; she touched the lives of many.
She met Akbar Jamall in 1972, and the two fell in love, going on to marry in 1977. Always a lover of children, Nancy would go on to give birth to triplets, Somalia, Elijah, and Kalilah Jamall, whom she adored all her life. She is survived by them, her husband, and other living family and friends. It is through them her passion and grace live on. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but the ripples of her love shall spread forever.
A gathering of friends and family for Nancy will be held Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Riverside Memorial Park Pavilion, 1373 Memorial Park Road, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
