Nell Wills, 93, passed away September 6, 2022 at her home in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born in Orlando, Florida but spent her youth in South Georgia where she met and married Adrian Wills after his return from WWII. They made their home in Jacksonville and were married for 56 years before he passed.
She was affectionately known as Miss Nell OR Granny Nell to all who knew her. She worked as an accountant and retired from Office Environment & Services where she was also immersed in volunteer work for the community. She was presented an award from Greenscape “In Appreciation for Outstanding Volunteer Commitment” in 2002. She never missed volunteering to handle the money for their tree sales every year and if your name is on a brick in San Marco, you mostly likely dealt with Miss Nell. She never missed the opportunity to help anyone that needed it. She loved to give.
She is survived by her sister Shirley Sumner, three children Al, Steve and Anita, three grandchildren, Christy, Kelly and Hunter and one great grandchild Nureece.
Funeral services will be held at Westside Baptist Church on Thursday September 15th at 11 AM. The family will receive friends and family at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205 on Wednesday September 14th from 5-7 PM. Funeral will be Church service only, no graveside service. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Community Hospice of Northeast FL or your favorite local community charity in her memory.
