

Ollin moved to Plainfield, New Jersey in the early 60’s and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1967. His military career consisted of many mission critical roles including that of Sharp Shooter and Communications Specialist. He was also awarded with National Defense Service Medal. After six years of service he was honorably discharged and returned to Plainfield.
He devoted is post-military career to public service, working in the City of Plainfield’s Public Works Department for nearly 30 years until his retirement. In 1993 he moved to Jacksonville, Florida where he contributed to Cedar Grove Corporation, a family owned business until 1998 when he became home-sick and returned to New Jersey. He eventually returned to Jacksonville where he grew to appreciate and enjoy the outdoors. His love of fishing was evident, as the contents of his trunk always included a tackle box, cooler, and other fishing gear. Some of his most joyous moments were the fishing outings shared with his family. He was also well known for his humor and is reputation for creating nick-names for every family member.
His father, the late Ollin Clark and his brother Richard G. Clark, predeceases him. He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Fannie Clark; two daughters, Deshell Lynn Clark and Akiva Yvette Clark, six sisters, Hazel R. Clark, Judith Brandon, Linda Elmore, Janice McMillan, Cynthia Clark, and Shelley Clark; three grandchildren, Deon Clark, Kenya Clark, and Kimon Horne and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, in-laws, and a many friends. The family would also like to acknowledge the strong friendship and support provided by Marilyn Grover.
We pray that our son, father, brother, friend receive our Lord’s mercy. The best of his deeds will continue to be in our memory and our hearts.
