Pauline Messer

Pauline is predeceased by her parents; her sister, Helen; her brother, Julio; and her beloved husband, Barnett Messer, Sr.

Prior to retirement, Pauline worked many years at Zayre’s Department Store, leaving there to go to Publix where she spent several years as a decorator in the Bakery.

Her family was always her priority, Pauline was first and foremost a devoted wife, mother, Nana, sister, and friend. She was deeply involved in her children’s lives – team mom for the baseball team and proud booster for the Sandalwood High School band.

Pauline is survived by her children, Barnett Messer, Jr. (Michelle) of Jacksonville, FL; David Messer (Karen) of Vero Beach, FL; Shelia Hybarger (Steve) of Jacksonville, FL; and Wayne Messer of Jacksonville, FL. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Ryan, Stephen, Megan, Geoffrey, Delaney, Justin, Ethan, and Makenzie; and her great-grandchildren, Everett and Brennan.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025 from 11:00am to 12:00pm with a celebration of Pauline’s life beginning at 12:00pm at the Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St. Johns Bluff Rd N, Jacksonville, FL 32225.

Interment will be in Chapel Hills Memory Gardens.
