Peter Joseph Alberghine

A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate his life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 22, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 742 Arlington Road, Jacksonville, FL, 32211. Father James R. Boddie will be officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery 4535 Main St., Jacksonville, FL, 32206, with full Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans, https://www.dav.org/.

Peter was born May 22, 1921 in Hoosick Falls, New York to Alchesti and Benilda (Bondi) Alberghine. He entered Military Service in 1941 and retired in 1971, having served in 3 wars on 14 carriers, including the USS Forrestal. He earned several medals of recognition during his time of service. He then served as VP of Vault Services with Barnett Bank for another 12 years. He married the former Olive L Swan of Jacksonville, April 9, 1943. He enjoyed work, camping, fishing, and time with his Family and Grandchildren. He was was an avid gardener and cook. He then married Glenda Swindell Alberghine on November 7, 1990.

Peter is survived by his Wife, Glenda of Franklin, NC, Sister, Eleanor Atwood of Delmar, NY, Son, Paul W. Alberghine (Teri) of Jacksonville, FL, Daughter, Catherine G. Long of Jacksonville, FL, and Daughter, Karran Gloer (Robert) of Woodstock, GA, as well as Grandchildren, Jennifer Henley, Jeff Bush, Misty Meyers, Ian Gloer, Alec Gloer, Great Grandchildren and many Nephews, Nieces and Cousins.
