Phyllis Jean Bragg, 86, a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother went to be with the Lord after fighting a courageous battle and is now “dancing” in heaven with her husband “Dub” who predeceased her in 1988.
She leaves behind 3 children, Debbie Herrera, David Bragg (Arei) and Randy Bragg (Fran), 4 grandchildren, Christina and Lucas (Debbie) and Angie and Heather (Randy). She also had her great grandchildren who she always referred to as her babies. She was close to her sister, Hattie Lee Day from Macon and her niece Sandra Arnold and nephew Bobby Herrington both from Jacksonville. She was a longtime member of Riverside Avenue Christian Church, Riverside Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile. She had many friends that she adored and was always attending various events with them and living life to the fullest. She faithfully cheered her children at their baseball games and continued the tradition by attending her grandchildren Christina’s and Lucas’ baseball games along with her great grandchildren, Lina and Riley’s soccer games. She always wanted to be there for her “kids” and was always nurturing and protective of them. She loved watching her Gators play football whether in person or on television. Her house was the place to be for the family at Thanksgiving and Christmas with her great cooking and loving surroundings. She never met a stranger and you walked away knowing you had a friend for life.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Riverside Avenue Christian Church, December 30th at 11:00am.
