He was born in Parrish, Alabama on May 23, 1935. Raymond graduated from Parrish High School. He was married to Joan Clements on May 06, 1960.
He served his country in the U.S. Army, and later began his Federal Government career, where he worked in the Printing and Reprographic Department at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers with 32 years of Federal service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church Downtown Jacksonville, where he served as a Deacon for many years and was active in the Men's Prison Ministry and Sunday School Class.
Raymond loved God and his family. He was a dedicated servant of the Lord. He also dearly loved his family. He enjoyed Auburn University football, NASCAR, and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Clements Argent, four children, daughter Rebecca Argent Bearce (John), sons Barry Argent (Peggy), Garry Argent (Sheila), and Chris, one grandson Justin Wood, two granddaughters, Shelby Archer and Lacey Lowery, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements will be held at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32205.
