

Reginald Keith Lyon-Mercado, age 89 of Jacksonville, Florida formerly of Ormond Beach, Florida passed away 9/29/2020. Born in Bombay, India June 22, 1931, he immigrated to England in 1953 where he received a degree in Engineering from Loughborough University. Loughborough is where he met his wife of 61 years, Pamela. He was also an officer in the British Royal Navy. In December 1967 they immigrated as a family to Schenectady, N.Y. moving many times across the United States for his career ending up in Ormond Beach where he retired from General Electric in 1994.
He was the ultimate all-around athlete excelling in track and field, field hockey, cricket, rugby, soccer, golf and tennis. He loved reading, sometimes as many as 4 or 5 books a month.
He is survived by his two daughters Beverley Tablada and Tracey Lyon-Mercado, son in-law Noli Tablada, his Grandchildren Jason Bryant and granddaughter in-law Jennifer Bryant, Jennifer (Bryant)Crane and Grandson in-law Brian Crane, Christopher Dick, Chelsea Lyon-Mercado, 7 great grandchildren – Taylor, Dylan, Gabriel, Cole, Reef, Hadley and Amelia. Predeceased: Pamela-wife, Eugene –brother, parents Arthur and Stella.
A Catholic service will be held on 10/31 at 1pm at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 435 1st Ave N, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250
