Richard "Rich" L. Hill, 73, died peacefully Thursday, August 8, 2013, in a local hospital after a sudden illness. He was born near Old Hickory, Davidson County, Tennessee, to Richard L. and Mary Louise (Kuykendall) Hill and was reared in Louisville, Kentucky. After moving to Jacksonville and the Orange Park area, in 1978, he was the owner of American Insurance, then publisher of the Specialty Agent Magazine and later owner of Express Tax/C.I.T, Inc., income tax services. Rich was of a quiet, unassuming nature and a true friend. His generosity, both personal and professional, is his legacy. Survivors include one son, Richard L. "Rick" Hill, III (Molly), two grandchildren, Ana and Graham Hill of Jacksonville Beach, a sister Jennie Oney (Larry) of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, Ms. Yvonne Hill, Ms. Betty Brewer and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, James K. Hill, of Louisville, Kentucky. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home located at 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jax. FL 32205. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Funeral services at Town and Country will be held on Wednesday August 14, 2013 at 10:00 am, with interment following in Riverside Memorial Park.
