Richard Keith Housand

Richard Keith (Rickey/Sheldon) Housand, age 28, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015 in Jacksonville, FL. Richard was born February 2, 1986 in Jacksonville, FL to Rodney and Tessie (DiMaggio) Housand. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and an Eagle Scout. He was an avid car and motorcycle enthusiasts. He was also a member of American Legion (Riders) Post #137. Richard will be dearly missed by his loving mother Tessie Housand; his father Rodney Housand (Monica); sister Cassandra M. Peterson (Jesse); step sisters Angela, Ashley, Jessica, and Makayla; step brothers Adam and Andrew; maternal grandfather Albert DiMaggio (Evelyn); maternal grandmother Dorcia Brock; and godmother Patricia Norris. Richard was loved and will be missed my many aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Billy and Barbara Housand and step father Rick Snellgrove. Family will receive friends and family 6:00-8:00pm Wednesday January 21, 2015 at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205, www.townandcountryfuneralhome.com. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home. Interment will follow service at 2:00 pm at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218. Family request in lieu of flowers that money be donated to the American Legion Post #137, 5443 San Juan Ave., Jacksonville, FL 32210, in memory of Richard Housand. The donations will ensure Rickey’s passion to help other may continue.
