

He was born on September 19,1938 in Roosevelt, East Parrish, Louisiana to James A. and Sillian B. Moore. Prior to retiring with the Railroad in Waycross, Ga, Richard was by trade a plumber employed in his earlier years with Eagerton Plumbing. Richard loved country music, old western movies, fishing, Nascar racing, telling stories from his childhood and his years of being a young man. Most of all he loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Sillian, three brothers, Charlie, Kenneth, Dude; two sisters, Hazel & Doris, and his first wife Shirley and daughter Sandra. He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Mrs. Barbara A. Moore, four children, Cheryl Long (Clifford), Annette Domalavage (Paul), Ronald Moore and Richard Moore along with three stepchildren, Merry McCaleb (Kenneth), James Christmas (Carrie), Deedra Berry, along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Richard is also survived by two brothers John Moore, Curtis Moore and his special lifelong friend Charles Hall.
The viewing for family and friends begins at 9:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32205. Interment will follow in Riverside Memorial Park.
