

Formal education was received at Jefferson County Schools, after high school Robert continued his education attending Alcorn State Univ., afterward serving in the U.S. Navy.
While in Chicago he met and wed Rosella New on April 24th, 1961. From the union he fathered 4
Children; Tewanna, Victor, Christopher and Terrance.
He loved his role as a devoted husband, father to his children and a father figure to many throughout the community.
Robert was employed as a Longshoreman, and starting a Home Improvement company known as Robert Anderson & Sons and retired from US Gypsum in Jacksonville, Fl. Robert loved reading, fishing, hunting and traveling.
Upon moving to Jax. Fl,., Robert Joined the Mount Herman Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the Late Rev. John H. Perry and current Pastor Reverend A.L. Jordan, where he served in capacity as a Deacon and licensed Minister, then later moving his membership to Unity Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his sister Lodie Bea Bullock, brother James E. Anderson, and grandson Christopher Anderson.
Those left to cherish his memories include his loving, devoted, and caring wife of 62 years Rosella Anderson; 4 children Tewanna(Ed) Witsell, Victor(Wanda), Christopher(Annette) and Terrance; sisters Gladys(William) Kates, Charmaine(Wille) Ross; 9 Grandchildren – Reshanna Bright, Rhyan, Christopher, Ramal, Chrisenda, Tekera, Christian, Adrian and Nina; 27 great grandchildren(Karlie Ms. Worthy); 2 Great great grandchildren; sister in law Bobbie Anderson; a host of nieces and nephews; God children Angie Baker and Angel Robinson; Special friends Myra Armstead, Versa lee Sales, Lillie Williams, Yvette Durham, Teresa, KK and Joyce.
A visitation for Robert will be held Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A funeral service will occur Friday, August 18, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Ephesus Seventh-day Adventist Church, 2750 Edgewood Avenue West, Jacksonville, FL 32209. A committal service will occur Monday, August 21, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
