Robert Logan Hogsten, 81, of Lake Butler, FL passed away peacefully September 16, 2017 in Lake City Haven Hospice. Logan was born July 20, 1936 in Ashland, KY, and was the eldest son of George Marvin Hogsten and Frances Logan Collier. At the age of 17, Logan enlisted in the Navy and was stationed in Mayport, Florida. After serving his country, Logan remained in the Jacksonville area to take a civil service job with the U.S. Postal Service where he worked for 35 years, until his retirement. Shortly after taking a job in Jacksonville, Logan met and married Leoress (Lee) Faustyne Tucker on April 22, 1956 and had two children, Robert Logan, Jr. and Frances Lynn.
Logan was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lee Tucker Hogsten, his brother Charles (Vicki) Hogsten and his daughter Frances Hogsten Clemons. He is survived by his brother John (Mary) Hogsten, his son Bob Hogsten, daughter-in-law Diana Pace Hogsten, five grandchildren Donald Hogsten, Robbie Hogsten, Kellen Crawford, Aniston Crawford and Daniel Bitters.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 11a.m. at Chapel Hills Memory Gardens, located at 850 St. Johns Bluff Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32225. A luncheon will immediately follow the service inside Chapel Hills Funeral Home & Cemetery.
