He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Joann Taylor, 2 sons Robert Woodruff, Jr, Thomas William (Franci), 2 daughters Sandra S. Griner (Jim), Linda S. Carlton (Harry), 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
He was born and raised in Savannah, Ga and worked for the CSX (Seaboard/Atlantic Coastline) RR for 41 years. Served in the Army for more than 3 years and was a war veteran. He was a founding member of Ft. Caroline Baptist Church, and was always active in his community. Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to: Ft. Caroline Baptist Church, 11428 McCormick Rd. A visitation will be held from 4-6pm, Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St. Johns Bluff Rd. N., Jacksonville www.hardage-giddenschapelhills.com.
Funeral Service will follow at 6pm at the funeral home. Interment will be held at 1pm, Monday December 6, 2010 at Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery, Savannah, GA.
