Bob as he was known to many was married to his wife, Lenora for 64 years. They met in St. Augustine while he was serving in the United States Navy. Upon discharge of service Bob got a job working for the telephone company. Bob and Lindy had two children, Dena Ann and Robert Dean. After 30 years of service Robert retired early and was able to enjoy his family, puzzles, and tinkering in his garage, but he never sat still. A busy body-Robert built his own fan clubs everywhere he went and he donated to many charities. Youth Readers Foundation, City Rescue Mission, and AT&T Pioneers were just a few of the charities he dedicated resources to. Bob was also a member of the Masons, the Loyal Order of the Moose, and AT&T Pioneers. He always had a story to tell, food to give, and smiles to share.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, William Van Dyke and Angie Smith. Surviving family includes his spouse Lenora Van Dyke and children Dena Ann and Robert Dean.
