Salomon Srulevich, age 96, passed away July 25, 2018 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina to Samuel and Sofia Grimberg Srulevich. Sal received his medical degree in Montevideo, Uruguay and moved to the United States in the 1950s. He practiced psychiatry for many years in Washington, D.C. and retired to Florida in 2005. He was a patron of the arts and as young man danced with the Ballet Nacional Sodre in Montevideo. Sal was a member of the Jacksonville Jewish Center.
Sal is survived by his loving wife Mary; four children Michael (Deborah), David (Heather), Samuel, and Elissa; and sister Rita Esquenasi. “Papa Salo” will be deeply missed by his five grandchildren Hannah, Jonah, Noah, Isabel, and Isaac.
Services will be held on Friday, July 27, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home. Rabbi Mona Decker will serve as officiant of services. Committal will follow at Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be designated to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida or the Jacksonville Jewish Center.
