Salvatore "Sam" Bruno, age 78, went home to be with our Lord on November 13, 2013. Sam was born July 29, 1935 in Dinsmore, Florida, and was a proud graduate of Andrew Jackson High School in 1954. Sam honorably served in the US Army, and later retired from the US Postal Service with over 40 years of service. He is preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Mary, 3 brothers, Angelo, Frank, and Steve, 2 sisters, Mary DePratter and Angelina Ricketson. He is survived by the love of his life and his wife of 54 years, Esther; daughters Terri Cooper; Angie (Bill) Bastian; grandchildren Shelly, Haley, Vincent, and Samantha; Brother Russell (Brenda) Bruno and sister Frances (Roland) Triozzi; and numerous relatives and friends. Additionally, the family would like to thank St. Vincent's Riverside and Community Hospice for the care provided. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home located at 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jax. FL 32205. A public visitation will be held, Monday Nov 18, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Funeral service will be held at Crossroads Baptist Church, 12165 Duval Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218, on Tuesday November 19, 2013 at 11 A.M., Pastor Anthony Rister officiating, followed by an interment at Riverside Memorial Park.
