

Samuel was born in Long Beach California to Walter S. and Flossie B. Dunn. He grew up in Jacksonville and graduated from Technical High School. He served in the United States Navy as an electrician, and retired from CSX railroad after 45 years as an electrician. Samuel was a member of the local I.B.E.W. and past President of the Lake Brooklyn Civic Association in Keystone Heights Fl. Samuel and his 1st wife Marjorie also had a successful family used car business. He loved his family, helping people and working in his yard. He always stayed busy never slowing down. After retiring he moved to Lake City Florida and was a member of Hopeful Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and loving mother of his children Marjorie Christine Dunn and second wife Joyce Dunn, daughter Marjorie Christine Stewart, grandson Jeffrey Dean Dunn Jr. and great grandson Nolan Ryan Dunn. He is survived by his son Jeffrey Dean Dunn Sr. and wife Donna, son Walter Samuel Dunn and wife Bonnie and son-in-law Ferrell Stewart. Grandchildren Joshua D. Dunn and wife Bailey, Samuel R. Dunn, Carl O. Dunn and wife Jill, Logan R. Dunn and wife Carey, Nicole Melton, Marjorie C. Melton, 10 great grandchildren, cousin Claude Weeks and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A visitation for Samuel will be held Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A funeral service will occur Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A graveside service will occur Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
