Sandra Jean Presnell

Sandra Jean “Sandy” Presnell, 71, of Glen St. Mary, FL went to her Heavenly home surrounded by family and friends at her home on September 4, 2016. Sandy was much like her Momma, a loving, determined, strong woman who endured many trials in her lifetime. Her strong faith in our Lord brought her through and released her soul at 1:13am to be with our Father. Sandra was born in Jacksonville, FL on April 13, 1945. She graduated from Nathan Bedford Forrest High School. She retired from JCC Nursing Facility as office manager and moved on to her many loves and hobbies. Sandy’s main interest in life was making her husband happy but she never forgot her family and friends along the way. Without her, one star’s light dimmed that morning in all those she left behind. She enjoyed painting, growing and enjoying her flowers, sewing and mainly visiting and laughing with her family and friends. Sandy’s pets were a big part of her life, Maggie, Harley and Sissy. Her day always included attention to her babies whom she loved dearly. Sandra was married to Charles “Charlie” as she affectionately called him; for 16 years. Sandra is survived by her loving spouse Charles, stepson Kevin (Marie) Presnell, stepdaughter Jackie Presnell, brother Larry (Tara) Taylor Sr. of South Carolina, sister Karen (Ben) Wisenbaker of Valdosta, GA, a special niece Wanda Pittman, brother-in-law Murl Johnson and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends Mike and Betty Word. Sandra is preceded in death by her Momma Ruby Mae “Stratton” Taylor, Daddy Leonard C. “Junior” Taylor, stepson Darius Presnell, stepdaughter Vicki Presnell, brother and sister-in-law James Gary and Bonnie Taylor, sisters Virginia “Ginger” Diane Johnson and Linda Sue Leverock. A visitation for friends will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 from 12-1pm in the chapel of Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. Funeral services to begin at 1pm in the chapel with interment following at Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to VITAS Hospice of Jacksonville, FL. The family of Sandra Jean Presnell wishes to thank all the wonderful Angels that make up VITAS and especially Bernice who lovingly named her “Sunshine”.
