

Sharon "Sue" Baldwyn, 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 22, 2017 in Jacksonville, Florida following a courageous ten-month battle with cancer. She was born on July 8, 1936 in Birmingham, Alabama to Firmer Lee Cook and Jessie Vera Cook as one of eight children.
Sue is survived by her loving spouse of 64 years, Mack Baldwyn, her daughter Brenda Darlene Wilhelm (husband Robert Oliver Wilhelm), her grandchildren Natalie Whiteman Bacon (husband Ellis Sutton Bacon, Jr.), Aaron Wayne Edwards, Evan Cook Wilhelm, and Theron Alexander Stewart, and her great-grandchildren Lydia Whiteman Bacon, Miriam Whiteman Bacon, and Ellis Whiteman Bacon. Sue was preceded in death by her son, Michael Wayne Baldwyn, daughter, Cynthia Diane Edwards, and her grandson, Austin J. Mack Edwards.
Sue was an inspiration and a hero to everyone who came to know and love her. She was a brave, compassionate, and selfless woman who cared for others until her final days. She will be greatly missed and her spirit will live on through the countless lives she impacted. Heaven has gained a tremendous angel.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Hillcrest Baptist Church at 11:00am on Saturday, March 25, 2017. Close family is invited to attend the burial which will immediately follow at Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and family at the church from 10:00am Saturday until the service hour.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Haven Hospice.
