Shirley Morgan Davis

Shirley Morgan Davis, born December 5, 1931, completed her journey on earth January 22, 2016. Mrs. Davis was born in Seneca, SC where she graduated from Oakway High School. After high school she married Jones Davis and they were married 63 years before he passed away, August 25, 2012. She was a devoted wife and mother and a faithful member of First Baptist Church. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Odell and Grace Morgan and four brothers and one sister, Woodfin, James, Rayford, Wallace and Patricia. She is survived by four brothers and two sisters, Jack, Leon, Jesse, Lane, Margaret and Barbara. She is also survived by two children Tony Davis (Patsy) and Deborah Price. Mrs. Davis has five grandchildren: Jennifer Price (David Cramer), Jacquelyn Price, Jamie LaFond (Matt), Michelle Davis Stancil (Alex) and Ambree Davis Gossman (Nick); and six great-grandchildren: Deric, Jewel, Ethan, Braden, Henley and Hudson.

The family will receive friends at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St. Johns Bluff Road N., from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 25, 2016. All friends and family are invited to a celebration of Shirley Davis’ life which will take place at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 26, 2016 conducted by Rev. Paul Murphy. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. in Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Fl 32218 conducted by Rev. Paul Murphy.
