I adored Shirley. Only knew her for the past 7 years but she was a delight to talk with and share life stories. She loved her music and was devoted to her family. I will miss her presence in my life. God bless her family.

Shirley was my sister-in-LOVE.
She had married the ‘handsome prince’ in my young life.  Donald, my brother, was my handsome prince, my knight in shining armor, and I idolized him.  He loved Shirley so that could mean only one thing – Shirley had to be a princess!!  And she was… 
Shirley was a skinny 17-year-old girl with the newest and latest hairdo – a duck tail - and it always looked perfect.  She liked the legs of her jeans tight at the ankles (ahead of her time even then).  Mother would stitch them up for her, so they were just right.  Shirley would come over to the house often and help as Mother was making one of Don’s favorite meals or fixing something new.  Shirley was like a young flower drinking in the knowledge and blossoming a little more each day.  I thought she was wonderful.  And she was…
On their second wedding anniversary Shirley presented Don with a beautiful baby girl named Donna Lynn!  I will never forget the smile on his face. 
 Another beauty was added to their family eleven days after their seventh anniversary.  Enter Laurie Ann and another big smile from Don.  Two happy people in love with each other and their little family.  
Profound sadness entered Shirley’s life when her beloved Don was killed in an auto accident.  She had so much to learn and handle, things that Don had always done for her.  But true to who she was, she handled it with grace and poise.  She had a faith that gave her strength, and she relied on the Source of that strength. 
As time moved on, she remarried and later gave Donna and Laurie a new baby sister, precious Renee.  We all loved Renee, she was Shirley’s and Shirley was to always be our sister-in-love!  So Renee had more aunts and an extra grandmother too!
As I grew up and faced real life, I realized what a treasure Shirley had always been!  I had always loved her.  She was Don’s princess and would forever be that to me.

Dear Donna, Laurie and Renee, I was deeply saddened to hear of your Mother's passing. She was a good soul. I have never been able to find the right words to express grief, but I think the best word that comes to mind, is love! Just know you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I Worked with Shirley 18 Years . The most kindest , Sweetest , Genuine woman 100% . She was a co - Worker and Like a mother to me . I Had many Thanksgivings, Birthdays , Christmas’s with her and her family . I will never forget her . She was Definitely let in the Gates of Heaven no questions asked . You will be missed by all who encountered you . We will meet again 😇. 🙏

Shirley wil be greatly missed.  She was the easiest person to be around I have ever known, never complaining.  We shared many travels and good memories that I cherish.  Shirley was a part of my life for almost 70 years and she was more a sister than sister in law.  It’s wonderful to know she lives on through her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  We were blessed to have her in our family and life.

My condolence to the family.  I worked with Shirley at Boyd & Jenerette since the early 90’s.  Working and knowing Shirley on a personal level was truly a honor, she definitely was a “True Honest and Southern lady.  I always valued her opinion which came with experience and of course honestly.  She was the first person to greet you when you walk through the doors at the firm and she was the voice on the phone this is where she got the title of the “Voice of Boyd and Jenerette “ which she rightly earned.  She was a good friend, a loving mother to her daughters and her work family and just loved her grandchildren.  Rest in peace my friend 💕
