Shirley Ann Hughes, age 86, passed away December 16, 2013 in Jacksonville, FL. Shirley was born February 28, 1927 in Jacksonville, Florida to Thomas and Iva (Thomas) Townsend. She attended St. Mary’s Episcopal Church and St. Martin’s Episcopal Church. Shirley retired after 32 years from Duval County Schools where she taught music to many students. She also was a graduate of FSU and a member of Sigma Alpha Fota Life Pan Pipes. In her spare time when not teaching Shirley enjoy reading, doing crossword puzzles, and traveling. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm, Thursday December 19, 2013 at Riverside Memorial Park.
