

Stephen John Hollo, 74, of Jacksonville passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. He was born on August 28, 1942 in Massachusetts to the late Stephen and Ruth Hollo. He served in the United States Navy for thirty years, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. After that, he worked at Coach for many years before retiring in 2013. Steve was an active member of Hogan Baptist Church and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, friend, and Red Sox Fan.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Verlyn; son, Christopher (Jessica); daughter, Kimberly (Kevin); grandchildren, Aiden and Kira; siblings, Sandra Johndro, Frank (Susan) Hollo, Valorie (Gene) McNatt, Mary Hollo, and Teresa (Franklin) Kuzmenko; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Newell.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 11:00am at Hardage-Giddens, Chapel Hills Funeral Home with Rev. Peter Copeland officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 14, 2016 from 5 until 7 in the evening at the funeral home.
