

Thelma L. Wade, 96, of Jacksonville passed away suddenly on Friday, January 24, 2020 in Covington, Louisiana where she was residing. Thelma is preceded in death by her husband Virgil K. Wade; her parents, Joe and Annie Rodgers; brothers Joe, Frank, Bill, Clyde and Milton Rodgers and her sister Doris Rodgers Csire.
She is survived by two sons, Roch A. Lemieux, Jr. (Sharon) and Ronald C. Lemieux; a daughter Ann Wade Desmond(Roy); granddaughters Lisa Lemieux Koprowski (Steven), Veronica Lemieux Johnson (Cliff) and Rene Lemieux Smith (David), Celeste Henley (Rick), and Jade Wise; grandsons Roch A. “Trae” Lemieux III and Ron D. Lemieux and multiple nieces and nephews. She was especially proud of her 16 great-grandchildren whom she loved and took great joy in.
Thelma was born and remained in Jacksonville until 2017 at which time she moved to Louisiana near her son, Rocky. In Jacksonville, she was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother and took great pride in her cooking, sewing, gardening and crafting skills. She especially loved cooking for the holidays. While in Louisiana, she made many new friends at Forest Manor and loved playing bingo with them! She remained in complete control of her life until her untimely death and was so proud and thankful. She was a devout Baptist and often reminded others that she did not fear death because of her faith and God’s promise of everlasting life.
The family would like to thank all of her friends, relatives and past caregivers for their support with a special thank you to her friends and the staff at Forest Manor in Louisiana for their loving friendship and care. She is already greatly missed by all.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home located at 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 1:00 – 2:00pm with funeral service and interment to follow at Riverside Memorial Park. Pastor Tim Nelson officiating.
