

Thelma Lorine Wall passed away on October 23, 2017 after a lengthy illness. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida on April 4, 1925 to Ida Mae and Jesse Jones. She was raised on the Westside of Jacksonville. After graduating Forrest Lake Academy in Altamonte Springs Florida, she studied at Fletcher Academy in Fletcher, North Carolina where she received a Diploma in Nursing. She worked for many years as a Registered Nurse in Washington, DC, Lincoln, Nebraska, Denver, Colorado, Omaha, Nebraska and Jacksonville, Florida. She specialized in obstetrical nursing, medical surgical nursing and eventually found her true calling in psychiatric nursing working for many years at Northeast Florida State Hospital where she eventually retired.
While working in Washington, DC she met and married the love of her life, Merrill Wall to whom she was married until his death in 2007. They eventually settled in Jacksonville Florida. They were blessed to have two sons, Gary Franklin Wall and Barry Richard (Annette) Wall. She was thrilled to be the grandmother of four grandchildren, Andrew (Anna), Daniel, Shannon, and Matthew Wall and two great grandchildren, Ava and Alec Wall. She is survived by her sisters, Louise Fankhauser and Ruth Creamer.
The family will have a visitation on Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 6pm-8pm at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St. Johns Bluff Road North. Jacksonville, FL 32225.
Funeral service will be held graveside on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 11:00am behind Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St. Johns Bluff Road North. Jacksonville, FL 32225.
