
Thomas Broyles (82) of Hilliard, Florida was called home on May 2, 2015. Thomas was born in Nahunta, Georgia on December 26, 1932 to parents William Broyles and Maybell McClellan. He is preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Broyles, a son Thomas Broyles Jr., and a great-granddaughter Dallas Page Isham. He is survived by one brother Floyd Broyles and one sister Doris Black, two daughters Christie Rowe and Patricia Matthews, along with seven grandchildren; Becky Wilford, Timothy Broyles, Amy (R.C.) Hodges, Jody (Alisha) Matthews, Joshua Matthews, Anthony Snyder, and Ben Snyder along with their parents Mike & JoAnn Snyder. Eight great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Thomas served in the Army, with the company H Battalion of the 350th Infantry Regiment, nicknames “The Mountaineers”. After his time in the service, he returned to Jacksonville, FL where he worked at Aetna Steel Mill for 32 years until their closing. Thomas then went to work as Quality Control for Allstate Steel Mill where he later retired in 1997. He enjoyed cheering on his Georgia Bulldogs, gardening, bird watching, and spending time with his grandchildren. He passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his caregiver Phyllis McIntosh and his family.
