Thomas Leon Smith Sr., 89, passed away Saturday November 1, 2014 in Jacksonville, FL. Thomas was born June 30, 1925 to Wilbur E. and Ida Ola (Daniel) Smith in Winter Haven, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Timothy James Smith, and two brothers Walter Ernest Smith and William Alton Smith. Thomas was a veteran of United States Navy and served during WWII. He was a retiree from Atlantic Coastline Railroad and later from the Jacksonville FD as an Engineer. Thomas will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 33 years Nancy S. Smith; son Thomas Leon Smith Jr.; daughters Diane S. Thomas(Robert),Cathy Proctor, Terri Wilson(Boo), and Deanna Robinson(John); sister Mildred Smith James; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Monday, November 10, 2014 at the Fire Department Union Hall, 618 Stockton Street, Jacksonville, FL 32204.
