
Thomas M. Whitmore, 75, of Jacksonville was reunited in Heaven with his late wife Judi on July 3, 2015. A devoted family man, Tom is survived by 3 daughters Megan (Michael) Sullivan, Dorothy (David) Gonzalez, and Autumn (Don) Herod, 5 grandchildren (Logan & Luke Gonzalez; Kate, Bridget, & Kent Herod), and numerous friends whom he considered family. Many thanks to the Yeaton’s, Clarke’s, St. Jacques’, and Pastor Jim Black for their special care over the last six months. Tom was a graduate of Keystone High School (Knox, PA) and Appalachian State University. He served for 32 years as a PE coach and Athletic Director at many Duval County Public Schools. After retirement, he volunteered with Baptist Health Auxiliary when he was not golfing with his buddies, cooking breakfast at Lodge, or attending church functions. A Mason for 50 years, Tom was a faithful member and Past Master of Wesconnett Lodge #297 F. &. A. M., Past Royal Patron of Acacia Court No. 10, Order of the Amaranth and a member of Wesconnett Chapter No.247. OES. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Robert A DeVries Memorial Scholarship Fund at SCAD of Savannah, GA (www.scad.edu) or to Baptist Health Auxiliary (baptistjax.com). Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home. All are welcome to attend a celebration of Tom’s life on Saturday, July 25 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 6317 103rd Street, Jacksonville, Florida.
