How many memories that I could share of Grandma? Some of my favorite memories were of Christmas time and coming into her house where she had stuff mixed, stuff baked, and everything spread on tables and counters. She loved fiercely and wanted to take everyone with her to Heaven. There was always love at Grammies and hugs. 

I going to say I going to miss you  alot you always in my heart and and soul to me now you can be back with grandpa. You was hard on me down in Florida when my mom was there you always make me go to church no matter what I still keep this memory and we want to Vermont I had a raccoon hat they always played a joke on me I thought I got a real raccoon turn around it was my hat 😂😂 I still remember that day I did have lots of fun with them 2 love you  grandma

I will never forget the first time I met this lady.  I was invited over to her house with  my then boyfriend (her Grandson Marcus) for a family get together.  I was nervous because it was a big deal but she put me at ease with her warm smile and welcoming hug.  Everybody  got hugs, even those of us that don't like hugs.  Her home was so loud and full of life with all the family conversations among shelves and bookcases full of knick knacks.  Porcelain dolls decorated couches, handmade doilies adorned furniture and chickens ran free in the yard.  It was all foreign to me.  I remember she rarely sat down as she was either cooking, baking, cleaning up or making sure each person had enough to eat.  No one left her home hungry or without a to go plate.  You see, Grandma was always on the go and we always joked that she would never slow down.  She had this innate ability to make everyone feel special, even those of us who didn't share her blood.  Grandma was a coveted matriarch.  She was irreplaceable and unmatched. 

Sadly, Grandma gained her angel wings.  Make no mistake, she is a fighter and fought hard against cancer.  But as she told me last week, "the Lord tells you when it's time" and I truly believe she is now winning in Heaven with her beloved Harold.  We will be sure to keep your name alive Grandma and I know you will be the best Guardian Angel for my family.  We love you, miss you and can't wait to see you again. 🙏

I am sure Trudy will be missed everytime I went to Church she made me feel welcome James says she was Grandma to everyone. I know  she is at peace and enjoying the Lord's presence.

It was before the building of Agape' Baptist Church, while still at Cedar Creek Baptist.  Harold and Trudy Barrett were the icons of living in faith,  loving Jesus Christ.  Their faith never faltered.  They were both the most giving, genuine people I have ever met.  They were an adorable couple, and both loved children.  So my memories were of encouragement to the rest of us who worked with children, and teens, and we so admired their example of love and hard work.  Go to visit Ms. Trudy and you would find children all over the yard, laughing and playing.  She never failed to support me with the teen group, nor Mr. Harold to tease about all the things we pulled off at the church.  We were young too.  Rev. Dannie Smith never knew what to expect.  We had our first fall festival at Agape' and scared our poor little kids half to death, the festival being in place of Halloween as Halloween was a pagan holiday.  We had dark woods to decorate and  be scary too.  Ms. Trudy gave me that smile of wisdom like she could do, and said afterwards, "Wow, that was really something, but uh..... while I loved some of it, you might want to lighten  up a little next year, not quite so scary.....after all it is on church ground."  I said, "Oh, Ms. Trudy, I knew that severed head in a box, and those eye balls and guts---(grapes & spaghetti) were too much.   She laughed, and gave me that sweet look of "all- knowing" and squeezed my hand.  "They sure were scared!"  She giggled.  I giggled.  She said, "…. But we can do better than that on Jesus ground."  We hugged and I said, "Ms. Trudy, you're right.  Fun doesn't have to be scary, not when there are better things more pleasing  to Jesus!  Can't wait 'til next year!"  My beautiful lady!  She was always my cheerleader, and I loved and respected her like the Matriarch that she is.  I am old now, and will see her soon.  What a marvelous time we will all have with Jesus when we all are singing in that Heavenly choir.  Love you, Ms. Trudy!

I am so sorry for your loss. Miss Trudy was a beautiful lady inside and out. The Lord has gained a real angel. The best baker around too. Sending out prayers  for all family members and friends.

Grandma, you are dearly missed! Very loved! You were an inspiration to many! You never met a stranger! Your hugs were beyond wonderful! You made sure everyone you came across knew about the Lord and made sure we were in church every time the doors were opened. Thank you for all the loving memories!! ❤️❤️❤️ We love you! I know you are no longer suffering and in pain. You are up there rejoicing and are back with grandpa! Keep watching over us!!
