

Vickie Dixon Ryan, age 76, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 2nd, 2022. Vickie was born on August 25th,1945., in Jacksonville, Florida. She was one of four children of Charles and Willie (Conrad) Dixon. Vickie grew up in Jacksonville, Florida and attended Robert E. Lee High School. Vickie stayed in contact with her friends and classmates through social media, dinners, and occasional reunions. After High School, Vickie started her career with Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph. During her career she held numerous positions of responsibility including phone operator, Administrative Assistant, Human Resources, and a Supervisor in Collections.
Vickie retired from Bellsouth in 1991 with 30 years of dedicated service. Vickie married during her time with Southern Bell to Charles E. Ryan. They had one child together, Jeffery Ryan. Vickie’s faith in Jesus Christ is what guided her as a single parent. Her faith continued at Hyde Park Baptist Church where she was a youth leader. She enjoyed the annual snow ski trips and summer youth camps. Vickie also enjoyed spending time at the family cabin in Three River Estates along the banks of the Santa Fe River. Where she would fish and tube on the rivers. She enjoyed the family gatherings, BBQ, and sharing old memories and laughter. Vickie enjoyed watching her grandchildren Catherine and Brady grow in faith within the church. She loved watching them play sports. Vickie is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to know her.
Vickie is survived by her son Jeffery and daughter in law Candi, two grandchildren Catherine and Brady all Green Cove Springs. She is also survived by her twin brother, Victor Dixon of Tallahassee and sister-in-law Sharyn Dixon Wood of Jacksonville. Vickie also leaves behind a host of cousin’s nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
She was predeceased in death by her parents Charles L. Dixon, Willie E. Dixon, two brothers C. Vaughn Dixon and Jack M. Dixon.
Family will receive friends at 5:00 PM on March the 11th at Hardage and Gideons Riverside Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32205. Funeral services will be at the same location the following day on Saturday, March 12th at 10:00AM with Pastor Elmer Crews officiating. Intermittent will follow at 11:00 am at Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial donations made to the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund at www.tcjayfund.org.
