

William Wilson Law, age 97, passed away Friday, July 24, 2015 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born October 13, 1917 in Defeated, Smith County, Tennessee to John William and Edna Florence (Bullard) Law. William, “Bill“, was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army from June 26, 1941 to October 6, 1945. After the war, he completed his BA and MA degrees in education and social work, later working as principal, teacher and counselor. He recently published his personal journal of daily life during WWII entitled, Lest We Forget, Experiences of WWII, by William Law. In 2014 he lost his wife of 48 years, Mary Jane Tait Law. He received Jesus as his personal Saviour at age 96. He treasured his friendships with caregivers and friends at Heritage Crossings, ALF and at Riverside Presbyterian House where he resided since 2013. He will be missed dearly by his loving family and friends. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandsons, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, three nieces, and four nephews. Family requests, in lieu of flowers, that donations in Mr. Law’s memory be made to either Murray Hill Baptist Church, 4300 Post St., Jacksonville, FL 32205 or First Coast Missionary Baptist Church, 4824 De Kalb Ave, Jacksonville, FL 32207. A memorial service will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218 for Mr. Law on Monday, August 3, 2015, promptly at 2:00 pm.
