

Gertrude “Trudy” Schultz passed from this life on the 18th day of May, 2015, in Peoria, Arizona. Trudy was born on the 8th day of March, 1921, in Frankfurt, Germany to her loving parents, Anne-Marie (Denfeld) and Peter Dinges. She had a devoted older brother Georg Herrman whom she adored. Only Trudy and her parents survived the war. In 1943, Trudy met John Schultz, an American Army soldier stationed with the General’s staff near Stuttgart. They married in 1945 and eventually settled in John’s home town of Birmingham, Michigan in 1952, with their baby boy John Herman. Trudy was active in Boy Scouts and baseball for her son, she with her husband nurtured their only child's interests in every way. She created a warm and loving home life, hosting visits from her and her husband’s family. There were always good times to be shared in the Schultz home. Trudy, John and little Johnnie loved to travel throughout the United States and back home to Europe. She resided in West Bloomfield Michigan until after her husband’s passing in l981, moving to Arizona with her rescue dog Sandy.
Trudy was an educated and very artistic woman of many talents. She loved life and always possessed a positive and cheerful outlook. She lived her life based on a code of generosity taught to her and her brother by their parents. That always guided her life extending to the welfare of animals and children alike in her charitable works. When Trudy made friends everywhere she lived, they were lifelong friends. She will be greatly missed by all those wonderful friends she leaves behind, and by her granddaughters Jessica Schultz of Aiken, SC; Melissa Schultz of Durango, CO; nephews Tom, Charles, David, Chris and Tony Schultz and their respective families; nieces Marion and Janice Schultz; and lovingly remembered every day by her “daughter” Carmen Izakson and husband Dubi of Orcas Island, WA; their sons Nicholas of Pinckney, MI and Joshua of Yorktown, VA.
Trudy will be met with open arms at Heaven’s gates by her loving husband John and wonderful son Johnny, her Papa and Mutti, her brother Georg. and beloved pets, Fritzy and Sandy.
