Kenneth J. Howell

Kenneth James Howell, age 82, of West Bloomfield; passed away on March 4, 2012. Married 61 years to the love of his life Isabella “Betty” (Batchelor) Howell. Kenneth was a loving father to Pamela (Dan) Hiatt, Janice (Russ) Helgemo, Kenneth (Brian) Howell; grandfather of nine; great-grandfather of eleven. Other surviving family members, sister-in-law Mary Winters, Jean Golding, Hazel Howell, Brother-in-law Jim Batchelor and wife Marguerite. Ken was a veteran in the US Army, retired from Walled Lake School District, and worked at Vernor’s for many years. He was a former member of the Loafers Club. Our Ken was an avid Redwings fan, golfer and taught his boys the sport of hunting and the love of the Out of Doors. Ken was preceded in death by his mother and father Alice and Merrill Howell; brother Donald and Robert Howell and infant son. The Memorial Service will be Friday, March 9, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the Pixley Funeral Home Godhardt-Tomlinson Chapel, 2904 Orchard Lake Road, Keego Harbor. The family will gather at the funeral home on Friday to receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. Military Honors will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kidney or the Leukemia Foundation; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
