She was born in Pontiac on April 8, 1956 to the late Anne (Kelly) and Robert O’Connor. Mary lived in the White Lake area most of her life; she attended St. William Catholic School and graduated from Walled Lake Central.
She married Pierre R. Obomsawin who preceded her in death.
Mary was known for her fierce love of children and family. She was willing to fight any injustice that needed to be fought and nurture any baby or child that needed love. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life. Mary and her sister Rose were a duo, a package deal, cared for each other, and each other’s children and grandchildren deeply. Her door was always open, the coffee pot was always on, and her ears always open. Anyone that needed a bed for the night always found a place to rest their head.
She is survived by her 5 children Ryan, Pierre (Sarah), Jason, Kelly and Dakota, 5 grandchildren: Felicia, Travis, Kayla, Porter and Asher, and was very excited by two additional grand-children on the way.
Mary will be interned with her husband Pierre at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
A funeral service will be held at Family Funeral Services in Keego Harbor, on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 3 pm. Visiting hours will be Noon to 4 pm.
